Built for process
Process trap for 1½" and 2" with the body between connectors, screwed or socket weld.
No moving parts
Works on a hydrodynamic principle with sized venturis. There is no disc, float or bimetal to wear out.
Modular build
304L stainless steel body between two bolted connector flanges.
Direct nozzle access
The body sits between the inlet and outlet connectors, so the nozzle is reached without removing the assembly.
Full load range
Works from minimum to maximum process load.
Shell and tube heat exchangers
Condensate discharge from the steam side under variable load.
Air heaters
Steam coils and batteries heating process air.
Calorifiers and reboilers
Process equipment with variable steam demand.
Cooking vessels
Jacketed vessels with heating cycles.
Compare the connections
The versions share the design and main components. The connection changes, and with it the operating limits.

Frequently asked questions
What maintenance and engineering teams ask us most about the VP trap.
What applications is the Fenix VP steam trap designed for?
Process applications such as shell and tube heat exchangers, air heaters, calorifiers and cooking vessels, in 1½" and 2" sizes.
What is the difference between VP-SC, VP-SW?
It is the same VP trap with two connections. The VP-SC is screwed (NPT or BSP) with 30 barg PMO at 260 °C; the VP-SW is socket weld with 100 barg PMO up to 450 °C.
What is the maximum operating pressure of the VP?
VP-SC: 435 psig (30 barg) at 500 °F. VP-SW: 1,450 psig (100 barg) at 842 °F.
What sizes and connections does the VP come in?
1½" (DN40), 2" (DN50). Connections: NPT or BSP thread; Socket weld.
How is the VP maintained?
The trap body sits between the inlet and outlet connectors, so the nozzle is reached without removing the assembly from the pipework.
What warranty does the Fenix VP trap have?
The Fenix VP trap has a 15-year warranty.
What spare parts are available for the VP?
Connection gasket (G-12 (1½") · G-13 (2")), Nozzle gasket (G-4 (1½") · G-5 (2")).
Fenix strainer, designed and made by Fenix
A trap only works well if the condensate reaching it is clean. That is why Fenix designed and makes its own strainer, and guarantees it for 15 years, the same as the trap.
